    You don't need a car to explore Palm Cove itself, and there are very good bus services to and from Cairns resorts, attractions and the other northern beaches. If you want to hire a car for an excursion, Avis have offices in Palm Cove itself and all the major rental companies have offices at Cairns Airport, and in Cairns city. There are a number of lower cost operators away from the airport.
